Are you talking about HDPE? .......NEC Article 353

The orange color typically is used for fiber optic wiring, and it is a form of the smurf tube

I looked back at the OP, and he mentions smooth tubing...this may not be what he is asking about.

A) it's not UV-resistant and B) It's not fire-rated or UL listed for indoors.

I installed a bunch of this in a house we just wired. It comes with a braded nylon pull sting.
The home owner said he would have one x-box and be able to play it in any room.

It could also be riser or resi-guard. The color alone does not denote its application.
