Heated floor of Bathrooms GFCI

I was checking out a house that was custom built. It's been a while since I built a custom house from ground up, (residential work). It was labeled in the panel a circuit for the 'floor heating' and it was not a gfci breaker. I asked the owner and he said it is for the bathrooms etc.. floor heat like I had thought.

Is there another way they do it now that make sure the floor heat is gfci protected as per NEC 2008 424.44(G)?? In the past I've always saw it (gfci breaker) installed at the panel. So is the practice different now?? I know it can be done other ways, just wanting to know the most common practice now.

Most in-floor heat thermostats have GFI protection built into them.

And 'custom' is not a word you will find in the NEC. A dwelling is a dwelling is a dwelling.
