I think in the OPs case the reducer is directly secured to the enclosure so the length of the reduced part is likely less than 1" long.


That said there is no prohibition in changing conduit size in the middle of a run as long as the conduit fill requirements are maintained.

..my point was that he did not install a 'nipple' as it would apply in using the 60% fill.

I know this is not addressing the topic but, why do many designers think there is a need to specify 3/4" as the minimum conduit size? Seems to me it is a waste of natural resources. Conductor ampacity corrections come into play the same regardless of the size conduit used. Once I install the fourth CCC in any size conduit I have to apply a correction factor.

Then take into consideration that these same specs usually limit the number of CCC's to three anyways.

Do designers expect maximum fill in all these conduits?
