is carflex allowed in walls, changing over from pvc. i know the wirepull could be hard but is it legal.

There is nothing that states you cannot use it in walls. However, according to 356.12 LFNC is not allowed in length of over 6' unless flexibility is required.358.10(1). One could argue that you need flexibility down a wall .

I am assuming pvc , carflex etc is allowed in the building.

Is this a 2011 thing?
I see it as being allowed. as long as it is secured properly

356.12
Not permitted...
(3) In lengths longer than 1.8 m (6 ft), except as permitted
by 356.10(5) or where a longer length is approved as
essential for a required degree of flexibility

356.10
(5) Type LFNC-B shall be permitted to be installed in
lengths longer than 1.8 m (6 ft) where secured in accordance
with 356.30.

look at 356.30(2)

Not sure what your implied point is but I don't see 356.30(2) changing what has been said here. I still don't see this allowing you to fish it if it is over 6'.

(2) Securing or supporting of the conduit shall not be required
where it is fished, installed in lengths not exceeding
900 mm (3 ft) at terminals where flexibility is
required, or installed in lengths not exceeding 1.8 m
(6 ft) from a luminaire terminal connection for tap conductors
to luminaires permitted in 410.117(C).

I read that as you are allowed to fish without securing. Note the comma and "or".

Let's back up. Article 356.10(5) states Uses Permitted
(5) Type LFNC-B shall be permitted to be installed in lengths longer than 1.8 m (6 ft) where secured in accordance with 356.30.

This tells me it must be secured in lengths over 6 feet. Now 356.30 states the securing is not required where fished. This seems to allow lengths longer than 6'.

Also

Article 356.12 (3) states Uses Not Permitted
(3) In lengths longer than 1.8 m (6 ft), except as permitted by 356.10(5) or where a longer length is approved as essential for a required degree of flexibility
This seems to circle right back and support 6' lengths or longer are permitted if fished.

Little confusing. On first read I thought you could not use lengths over 6' when fished but now I think you can.

This makes sense and I couldn't understand why it seemed to not allow that install.
