if you upgrading a service panel from 100amps to a 200amper you have to take out the 2awg feeders and replace them with 4/0 alm ..but do the ui guys have to bring a higher awg service drop or is it already sized for such an occasion

It's entirely up to them........sometimes they do , sometimes they don't. Also make sure your socket is rated for the new amperage and the riser is the correct size (if you have to install the riser).

Don't know where you're located but the POCO here wants 2-1/2" rigid for the mast on a 200A service. You might want to check with your POCO.
