I was walking in a parking garage/lot today with my wife and I looked up and there was conduit run along the underside of beams with the beam clamp attached to the beam and clamping the conduit to the beam. Is that a code violation ??

Hell no, each beam must be drilled, tapped and gusseted for each pipe hanger.

I thought there was a rule about cables and tubing being a certain distance from the deck, like roofing- cause of screws. Maybe I am wrong. :?

There's an article for that, but what does that have to do with a conduit hanging on the bottom of a beam in a parking garage?
