Sorry guys forgot my old password and logged me in under old.

Anyone ever do a large commercial building lobby lighting and power job? Anything unusual you’ve come across or things to be aware of?

And there are about 10 different phases. Never completely understood how phasing affect the installation.

I did the design for a large lobby. The biggest challenge was making it possible, even easy, to replace light bulbs. With the increased availability of LEDs, that issue is less of an issue.

I was thinking something like catwalks above the ceiling for easy access to light fixtures. What a nice dream!

Then I remembered-- fancy lobbies have fancy chandeliers! You're still going to need a ladder to change light bulbs! :roll:


ps-- most really large chandeliers have hoists to lower them to floor-level (or at least short-ladder-level) for maintenance.

Since there's a "dance floor" just treat it like a regular floor. You won't be able to use a lift and will probably have to work off of ladders. Dance floors are pretty standard for lobby ceiling construction.
