I understand the smallest conductor needs to be #8, however I do not see minimum amperage requirement.

I usually put a minimum of of 60 amp..

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

3 small apt building .1 meter is feeding a 30 amp single main feeding a 30 amp breaker . 2 meter is feeding 2 pole 30 amp with two 20 amp breaker ,3 meter is feeding 1 30 amp breaker a 30 amp breaker . From the meter to the panel is 10 awg nm wire

230.79 is the size of the service disconnecting means. Since it is a multifamily dwelling, the minimum size for the service disconnect is 60A.

Does the service terminate in a single service disconnect or 3 or 4 disconnects (3 for apartments and one for common)?

Also, check with your POCO. Dominion Energy's minimum selection on both residential and non-residential load letters is 100a.

Single service. This is for a small building 40 ft. by 20 ft.

But what does that mean?

Here there are a couple POCO's that if you want underground supply, you must bury raceway, they will pull conductors.

Even if you want 100 amps they are pulling 4/0 aluminum, so you better have a 200 amp meter socket and then leave it with your 100 amp conductor.
