Toaster tripping GFCI receptacle. New Toaster, new receptacle

Where is the GFCI installed in the circuit? At the panel, the receptacle immediately in front of the toaster or somewhere in between?

That helps, but it is possible the problem is on another circuit entirely and the customer hasn‘t caught the sequence of events.

This world is insane...

Looks like an IoT w/ maybe support for Alexa, so now you can 1-button bagels from the toaster when your bagel supply is low, and/or you can drop the bread in and yell out "Alexa, toast number four" and the toaster does the rest. "Touchless Toasting"
