Klein BM cable knife.

I used to have a special Klein knife for NN cable. Best use was when making up boxes. Knife had a blunt tapered tip you could probe into the cable. Sharp edge faced out, so no wire damage. You pushed the knife into box & stopped a half inch from KO. I didn’t always use it but it was neat. Sure sorry I lost it. Not on their website or on E Bay.
Does anyone else remember this?

For stripping the sheath? I just use a hook knife, probably Klein. Folding with an orange handle. Then I cut it off with my cutters.

I was just asking if anyone remembered the knife. I didn’t use it a lot but it was good for the specific task of making up boxes. It was a unique design. I was sorry to lose it.

I used to own the Klein orange handled version of that. Real good knife lost it one too many times now I slum it and use a retractable razor knife.

Mano, not it. I’ve seen a lot of similar ones to this. Good knives too.
The one I had was given to me by a former boss, about 2003 or so. We were doing a lot of resi remodels at the time, making up nail up boxes. It was great for that. You pushed the blade in from the end up into the cable & split jacket to about a half inch from KO. I’ll draw it up & try to post it.

Please do, you got me curious. Are you sure it was Klein? I went through all the ebay listings for antique and vintage Klein electrician knives and found nothing like that. You would think somebody would have one.

Haha, they just wanted macho appeal with this knife. Not good for NM, cords or data cables. Double edge not conducive to use on MCM wire either.

Guys I know with them have them because they can’t carry a gun in the company truck.

Two blades one is very unusual a cable stripper, see the photo of the small blade it goes under the covering on cable then push to cut then use large sheeps foot type to complete the job. Typical
