Seems like various tool containers are much harder to find now. HD does have several sizes of zipper bags but places used to have various size boxes for combo wrenches, sockets, etc. I’m thinking that was 1 thing Sears was good on, way back.

Having to innovate. Boss gave me a set of easy outs I’ve been needing to contain. Don’t have any pill bottles tall enough. I’m cutting a toothbrush tube down to size that will work nicely

Looking around for an old drill bit case that might work for a small tap & die set he gave me. Most of those used to come in a small flat case. This is just a blister pack. Easy enough to make a rack of sorts if it stays on a bench but our stuff has to go all over the plant.

A pharmacy may be willing to sell you some empty pill vials. I use lots of them for storing small parts, but I get them with pills in them.

I’ve used a lot of them over the years. Great containers. Just couldn’t find any quite tall enough for this use. Next trip, I will see if pharmacy has a taller bottle. 👍

I've been using alot of the clear small parts organizers Husky brand from homedepot. Look at p/n THD2015-03 and p/n THD2015-06 theyre only a couple dollars and fairly rugged.

Uline.com

Much their stuff is best priced if bought in larger quantities, but lots of things to choose from.

Try looking for pill bottles, sample bottles, or similar maybe.

At Ace Hardware I bought a couple of hinged water tight plastic containers. The lid snaps back on nice and tight. They are nice but pricey like $17 for a pack of two. They are nice for small drill bits, taps, torx bits, philips bits etc

I love Milwaukee packout for such things, allows me to move with me a lot of tools needed for a variety of tasks, they make a small parts container, either full or half width that is part of the system, and water tight (can store in back of open PU and tools don't get wet). Pricey but I find it's worth it. I've even used it as a small work surface in site assembling of products where table not available, sturdy.

I came up with this & it works well for easy outs. Working next week on something for tap & die set.

I’m getting depressed at the few Meds I have to take. Time for me to back up a step or two.

I’ve used anything with a cover. Some where I managed to get an Old metal ammo box that’s probably as old as me. Parts are still loose in it but I think a duce and a half could run over it and it would still be functional. I know Cabellas used to sell plastic versions that looked pretty tough. With or without ammo in them.

Packout is a good box. A bit too pricey so I bought the Ridgid stackable. Packout has 2 trays, I like that. I used to have a Craftsman rolling box with 2 trays. Top tray was best I’d ever seen for small parts. I still have the tub but the trays & top are long broken & gone. Of course they had quit making it when I tried to replace it.

I’m sort of like many in the crowd here.
pill bottles..
Ask friends and neighbors for there emptys.
They work great for things like storing small bits in the drill/driver box. (I try to keep mine together)
assortment of small things that just don’t need an entire bin or container in a box

I have two prescription medications that come in pharmacy pill bottles. After a year, I've got 24 containers. By now, I have enough to really annoy my wife.

I usually pick up a couple plastic ammo boxes when they're on sale for $5 each. My wife put together a first-aid kit for my car using one. Another one is holding some test equipment. My wife thinks I should get an ammo box full of pill bottles. ;)

I have one Packout box I won in a drawing, and I think my wife is adding to that collection for Christmas.
