Installing a 100 amp sub in garage. From garage it goes underground in pvc pipe then in the house basement With 2/2/2/4 . It will need To go about 20’ before it lands in the panel. My question , Is there a wire that is rated for direct burial and also has an outer jacket so when entering the house I can run it across the basement and in the panel.I know I can run singles then in flex or pipe just thought there might be a wire I’m looking for.

Sounds like you're looking for a type of cable that can be run across the basement and underground. The only cable that I know of that can do that would be UF cable. Also if you're using aluminum, #2 aluminum is only rated for 90 amps.

An accurate answer will likely require you to idnetify the cable type. Should be marked on the jacket,

Direct bury?
Never used it for direct bury myself, but using the google machine shows some hits. I did a brief check before my first post just to make sure I wasn't crazy that it existed.

" UL listed for direct burial in earth or concrete "

That link isn't the size and number of conductors that OP is looking for, but I just wanted to show that it looks it exists.

Tray cable is rated for direct burial, wet locations, and can be run like Romex:

under certain conditions:
In one- and two-family dwelling units, Type TC-ER cable containing both power and control conductors that isidentified for pulling through structural members shallbe permitted. Type TC-ER cable used as interior wiring shall be installed per the requirements of Part II of Artcle 334.Exception: Where used to connect a generator and associatedequipment having terminals rated 75°C (140°F) or higher, thecable shall not be limited in ampacity by 334.80 or 340.80.Informational Note No. 1: TC-ER cable that is suitablefor pulling through structural members is marked “JP.”

We’re putting a ton of this in for a ski slope this year, direct buried (well, where we can bury it any way, huge hill of rock).

Working well so far. The fittings are a little expensive, but would work well for the OP’s scenario as he wouldn’t need tainting terminations.

Excellent. Thanks for confirming. (y)
