Outside generator

I have generator feeding building that’s outside. It’s on concrete pad max 50 feet away building and it feeds the building and it’s loads.

Question generator pad can have concrete encased electrode. However NEC 2014 section 250.30(A) says grounding electrode either steel or water pipe for separately derived system.

Wondering if I can use generator concrete encased electrode or have to run GEC to water pipe or steel for the generator which is separately derived?

As long as it’s at least 20’, should be ok.

We are still on NEC 2014 section 250.30(A)(4). Please see below

Dunno if this will help any or not. But I believe based off 2017 code, these requirements must be met for the use of a ufer ground.(someone correct me if wrong)

Don’t have code book with me to reference. But I believe as long as your electrode in the concrete is continues for at least 20’. And encased in Atleast at 2”of concrete also concrete in direct contact with earth.
