Have a 320amp main service mounted on a detached garage. Installing 2 sub panels in main house (120' away) can I run separate conduit runs for both sub panels from 320 amp main electrical service ? Both sub panels will be externally mounted side by side. 200 amp sub and a 100 amp sub.

No you cannot have 2 feeders going to the dwelling. Run a parallel feeder and install a trough at the end and tap to the 2 panels.

No you cannot have 2 feeders going to the dwelling. Run a parallel feeder and install a trough at the end and tap to the 2 panels.

yes you can. but it almost certainly violates the code.

Generally only one feeder is allowed to feed a detached structure. If the service was on the building it was feeding, then it's all one building so you can have two feeders.

It is probably a 400 Amp service with a 320 Amp meter.

I have seen it too, but it is likely a violation. It seems like a trivial thing to me but it is a rule.

If there is no service disco at the meter these are not feeders but rather service conductors and would be compliant. Not sure if the OP is putting service disconnects at the meter though. While the code does not require the service disco(s) to be at the meter location many POCOs do.

Sure, which is a 400 amp service. Sort of a pet peeve that when using class 320 metering everyone refers to the continuous rating, while for everything else, is always referenced by its non-continuous rating.

If he is putting the service at the garage it would seem likely there is a panel there too.
