Potentially installing a Stelpro Mirage wall mounted space heater in a basement. The unit is 240v/1500w. The heat vents from the top of the unit.

Couldn’t find anything regarding distance from ceiling requirements. Does anyone know? There are children and they want it up far from the typical baseboard area

Customer has suspended ceiling and I think it would get quite toasty if this unit was too close

thanks

Instructions didn’t specify .....only mentioned distance from floor

I’ll call the mfg again. Their call center is in Russia and I can’t understand them

Is there a reason you want it up near ceiling? Generally speaking for heating purposes you want to have the unit relatively close to floor for the convection type heater, it depends on the colder air near floor for proper convection, and air circulation. Put it up high and you'll get little heat efficiency from the unit and cold feet.

Customer wanted it higher due to small children. So I spoke with the manufacturer. They make a unit designed for near ceiling mount. Will be going that route
