PVC Conduit Repair/ Split Pipe

Does anyone have any experience with pvc pipe repair kits? I would need full 10’ sections. Project is a sports field the site guys are undercutting the home side 15’ deep so all pipe has to be removed and replaced. I am trying my best to reuse wire and pipe.

Replace all but the length of the splice kit with PVC pipe. Good or not, we've used expansion joints on occasion.
Good luck finding PVC and I hope you didn't bid it low.

I gave a price recently to bury some 3 inch PVC with 250 kcmil aluminum conductors in it. conduit cost more than the conductors.

I haven't figured out exactly what you are doing.
Are you repairing conduit only without removing the wire?

We've done it before, but stagger cut the wires, slid on good pipe to the point we will install an oversize conduit repair kit. Splice and heat shrink. Install the repair kit. These are repairs on 1/4 mile conduits.

If it is doable pull out the wire, replace the conduit and pull it back in. That's where the expansion joints come in handy.

Looks like #4 or larger.

250.119(A) Conductors 4 AWG and Larger. Equipment grounding conductors 4 AWG and larger shall comply with 250.119(A)(1) and (A)(2).
(1) An insulated or covered conductor 4 AWG and larger shall be permitted, at the time of installation, to be permanently identified as an equipment grounding conductor at each end and at every point where the conductor is accessible.

We are temporarily removing the wire and pipe so the can undercut the surface 8’. We will reinstall when they are adding the fresh fill.

I'd likely pull conductors, that way all they can damage during excavation is the pipe and it can be easily pieced together again if that happens.

Trick is probably replacing it without increasing length of conductor needed. Might even be wise to design additional pull/splice boxes that may not been there before (or even as mentioned in ground Quazite boxes) to allow for this kind of thing.
