What's your thoughts on this one. How dangerous is this situation. Got called about guy wanting a pool hookup. So he asked I check his main panel as this was going to be the source for the pool panel. Started looking at a 120/240 SD QO panel from around 1970, and first sight was the GEC was never attached, just laying in box. Then saw a feeder going to another panel URD with no conduit, it ran across the room where it penetrated the sil plate along with NM branch circuits. (Found out it was the barried cable going to the garage but first under the sun porch.) Top of panel has 3 sleeves for all the NM to enter and one of the sleeves has the two ungrounded conductor of the feeder the other sleeve has grounded conductor, found no ground wire with the feeder. Visual evidence of main breaker bus lug had been heating up on L2. Went to check garage entry and found the conductors exposed both inside and where the barried conductors goes into building no conduit and no ground. This is an old installation, old farmer diy.
Saw the pole xfer had all the paint gone rusted and oil staining as if leaking out of top and the red light is on. This house is only load on the transformer.
