Shunt Trip breaker help....

Hey guys ran into a bad shunt trip breaker for an elevator (1 pole was bad). The local Square D house told me an FA frame 3 pole 70 shunt trip was obsolete.

I ordered up a 3P 70, shunt trip from the local house, and got this.... GE TED series with a field install shunt trip kit, and the enclosure. Long story short the shunt trip isnt supposed to be a field install, and the kit is more a replacement part.

My question is this, does anyone know of a way to use a standard breaker, and have the fire alarm trip a relay or contactor (thinking 3-wire stop start circuit, fire alarm is the start, and the stop being manual would restore the elevator), as there seem to be supply chain issues with a 70 amp shunt trip breaker. If there is, MAYBE I can coordinate with the elevator contractor, and he can do this part.

Just looking for some ideas, as I am kinda upset with the supply house, this is a bid job, and the customer would like his elevator back......

Be careful....even though those kits are available, with some designs you have to remove the cover that gives access to the trip mechanism and when you do that, you lose the breaker listing.
In general, if the screws you have to remove to install the shunt trip are "factory sealed" you cannot field install the shut trip and maintain the listing of the breaker. The concern is possible damage to the trip and possible change in the trip current.
