They're good for vacation homes where they get turned on and off frequently.Would a 30 amp 2 pole toggle switch be an acceptable means for a residential water heater?

I've used 30 amp AC disconnects in the past but am looking for a "cleaner" flush type means.
4" square box w/ mud ring and FMC out through drywall into tank.

30 amp switch, 1900 box, and raised cover is gonna put you close to fifty bucks.
