It is, a MC connector wouldn't let the sheath come all the way through and the sheath here is all the way through the connector.Looks like an EMT connector. The pic is kind of dark to tell for sure.
I think he's saying it is an EMT connector. It is an MC connector but not a very good one. I replaced it with another one.
Yup. You can see the stops if you expand the picIt looks like a set screw connector for flexible armored conduit They don't work well with smaller sized armored cables
It's made for 3/8" flexI am having a hard time seeing what's wrong with this particular connector.
The OP referred to it as junk. I thought he meant there was something wrong with the connector not that the wrong connector was used. It's made for 3/8" flex
12/2 MC is 5/16" and doesn't sit against the stops
It appears to me that the problem is with the installation. If the connector will grip the sheath firmly, it could have been tightened with the cable at the proper depth.I am having a hard time seeing what's wrong with this particular connector.
Yes, installer was part of the issue. It appears to me that the problem is with the installation. If the connector will grip the sheath firmly, it could have been tightened with the cable at the proper depth.
