This two pole breaker has terminal temperature Terminations rating marked all over the place seems like 60 deg for 8 awg and 75 deg for 2-6 awg? However I’m planning on using 12 AWG do I just rate wire to 60 degree lowest rating? Or go 70 degree?

In your application your most likely going to size your conductors for 60 deg ampacity. Assuming your using NM(romex). Even if your using THHN the device your terminating into also has a temp rating and has to be taken into consideration.

According to the information in the photo you cannot use #12 AWG on this circuit breaker. The minimum size is #8 AWG.

It looks like you can use 60C insulated conductors for #8, and 75C insulated ones for the larger sizes.

Out of curiosity what is the ampacity of the breaker

I’m actually not using this two pole breaker which I believe is 40 amperes. However, I am paying more attention to rated termination temperatures. I will be using two single 20 ampere breakers Instead.

I just wanted to get some info and termination for this breaker was quite confusing

Then again I’ll have to double check as this breaker came with 70 ampere disconnect box or company just ordered the two
