Is anybody familiar with this egress light and can tell me what battery it takes? I'm thinking it's a 12V7AH but I can't verify because it's way up in the air. I can't get up there until the lift is delivered next Monday and I'd like to have the right batteries on hand.

See if your supplier will sell you to or three batteries, and let you return the ones that won't fit.

I would just buy a new unit, for $30 or so. Probably about the cost of batteries
Completely agree. If it's very old, its probably incandescent. A new one would be LED.

The difference is the incandescent ones usually have a large square Lead Acid battery (probably weights about 1/2 lb.)

The new one will probably have a couple of NiCad AA's. The LED's are just that much more efficient.

Hard to tell. Like mentioned above I'd just replace with new led battery back bug eye. Otherwise, try and get a serial number off the fixture and contact manufacturers technical support. If you can find the battery itself find a serial number to look up specs.
