Receptacle mounted to RTU curb

Just wondering if it’s legal to mount a service receptacle on the side of an RTU curb if I don’t have a convenient spot to mount on the unit itself?

I've seen a piece of uni-strut mounted to the curb and the receptacle mounted to that. Why not mount it to the RTU?

No good spot on the RTU (Lennox Lx series) that I can see
 
Nothing would prevent you from doing so. The only problems I could see anybody barking about would be snow buildup in the winter time if its very low maybe roof heat. And also making sure you arent causing any leaks being part of the roofing system and waterproofing.

That would be my main concern, make sure whatever you do doesn't increase possibility of leaks.
