Can anyone recommend a good source for this contactor.

Was there an overload on it? 8536 is a starter where 8502 is just a contactor. SQD still makes these Type S contactors but there has been some change to the part numbers. The SDO in the type is still good means type S Nema 2 Open type. I dont know what the -1 means. The form P41X1 I can't figure out what the P41 is. Pretty sure X1 (the form, not a terminal) is a N.O aux contact but I can't figure out the P41 -it might be a pilot light on the cover of the enclosure. Not cheap, $500-$1000
 
Grainger stocks Square D, if you really need it fast and don't mind coughing up the dough
 
It is just a run of the mill contactor. You should be able to replace it with just about any brand. Personally I would rip it out and put in an oversized IEC contactor.

I don't know how hard it is to get a 208 volt coil though on any motor starter. It's not real common these days.
 
Update the fusing while you're at it.

Be the least expensive option.

Just a side note. Been there. While size, even in same brand, might be same, mounting holes may not align, enclosure might not be adequate to drill/tap new mounts, (2 full thread contact). This might force another alternative.
 
Here's a question: This looks like an enclosed starter, not a contactor in some random box. Is there a listing issue with replacing the contactor with something else?

The enclosure doesn't probably care what is mounted in it.

The listing has to do with the condition of the equipment when it left the factory. As soon as you put your own conduit it entry into it you may have negatively impacted the equipment, so it is up to the AHJ to approve the installation.

Once you mount something in the enclosure different than what was shipped from the factory, or not listed in its instructions, it is definitely up to the AHJ to approve it. Changing manufacturer of parts would not be any different.
