Hi All,
Looking for some help in the NEC 2020 article 690 solor power array setbacks on roofs. I can't seem to find the specific sub section code# within the chapter article. As always I appreciate your time and help.

I don't believe there are any setback rules. Are you thinking that the array must be so far from the edge of the roof?

Yes, I was thinking that exactly...that's probably why I can't find the code..😂 my thinking was if there was a fire and the fire personnel had to enter via the roofline. That said I appreciate your input and time.

That type of thing is found in the building codes, not the NEC. Building codes often have requirements to provide access to the roof for fire fighters, including enough space for venting the roof (cutting holes to let heat and smoke out)

Setbacks are governed by IFC (fire code) and IBC (building code), and they are different for pitched and flat roofs as well as for commercial and residential buildings. Also, different AHJs enforce different code versions, so check with them. NEC 690 does not address setbacks.
