Hoping someone can provide some insight. Been asked to provide labor(after rigger sets sections) the attach/bolt these 7 sections of gear.

1. I believe gear can be cable or bus tied together, correct? I don't see anything on this submittal that would indicate that. I do see cable entry( last column) but I believe that's the feeder for each section.
2. If it's a bus tie how is that done? Just bolting together the phase and neutral buses? You guys use impact gun or wrenches?

Sections are usually buss connected, mfg. has tie buss in each section. Torque wrench used.

I do not see a CT section, or a pull section. Is this a Service?

OCPs in bottom row are going to be a 'bear' for 500s/600s terminations.

it appears all of the connecting cables will connect to bus stabs on the rear side of the switchgear, so they should not be much of an issue.

Typically the bus connections will be shipped with the equipment. Sometimes they will be temporarily bolted to the bus in the next section by the manufacturer for shipping. They will be bolted connections and you will need to torque the bolts per the manufacturer's specifications.
Given that this appears to be 4,000 or 5,000 amp gear, there will likely be multiple bus jumpers per phase.

This is drawout gear, I would not trust that the riggers have carefully leveled and shimmed each section. Be prepared to supervise or make adjustments.

Thanks Don. Yes I get that( the incoming feeders will). But the sections of need to be attached. Aren't these two separate things we are talking about?

THanks. No not a service. Not my work so not concerned with those terms but I imagine if you came from bottom it wouldn't be an issue. I didn't check cable entry on schedule so maybe they won't be able to.

Curious, generally would you say 3 men could attached these sections together in 2-3 days?
 
This stuff is very helpful I appreciate it. I'm going to start making sure I save info in my electrical reference library I have.
 
They bolt together, it was 4-5 bolts on the front and back. Make sure the riggers line it up correctly before they leave. You only need 2 guys a third guy will be standing around watching
