Spacing requirements electrical equipment to storage tank

Hello

I have a industrial washer which has a requirement to be 3 feet away from electrical equipment due to it's classification as "storage tank".

I found some information about this at OSHA but wondering if this is also somewhere in the NEC code book.

And I understand this is an electrical group, but anyone has any inside how a product would be classified as a storage tank and where the definition is?

My clients manual says all equipment must be 3ft away due to potential flammable vapors

The equipment has no HazLoc rating and nobody there know where the spacing requirement is coming from

They have a smaller washer which does not contain the notes

If that is really the case they need to supply the area classification drawing required by 500.4.
