I'm trying to assess some new (to us) distribution blocks. In looking at their specs, I see their nominal voltage varies WIDELY, depending on what "use group" is applied. It's 500V for some, only 150V for some.

So, for use in industrial control panels, which "use group" or "application group" is applicable? If possible, please provide a code reference that supports your assertion.

The first thing you should do is check this list of parts you are allowed to use in UL508a panels and make sure it is in the list.

There is no such thing as "UL approved".

Something used in a UL508a panel can be either UL listed or UL recognized but also has to be specifically noted in the supplement as being suitable. There are a lot of listed or recognized components that cannot be used in a UL508a panel.

Most distribution blocks are actually recognized under UL1059. Listed terminal blocks are UL1053.
