Good morning,
I recently installed two new Square D AFCI breakers (Model - HOM115CAFI) and I noticed that the hot terminals seem to have quite a bit of movement after the screw/wire is tightened down. I was just curious if this much play is normal for these breaker types. Both of the new ones I installed have the same amount of movement (14awg wire, 15 amp afci breaker). Basically I can grab the hot wire coming out of the breaker and move the entire hot terminal screw up and down a decent amount. I have added a video clip of the breaker and the movement I'm referring to here.

Somewhere there is a picture of the insides of one of these, I can't find it. As I recall the terminal has a wire that goes to the circuit board so there is no rigid electrical connection to another component like there is in a regular breaker. Mechanically, the terminal is captive in slots in the housing.

Thanks Todd, I spoke to another electrician that said the same exact thing. These Homeline afci breakers seem to be constructed differently as you mentioned.
