Besides there being no bushing for nm cable passing through metal hole I see no problem here.

Code says nm sheath must exit at least 1/4 inch from the hole entering a box

But the code of the day isn’t even about the lack of a bushing or fitting but instead about the nm cable not being continuous. Whatever this means?
It says mechanically continuous which means that they must be mechanically connect to. The wording for mechanical continuity is directly from the NEC.

300.12 Mechanical Continuity — Raceways and Cables.
Raceways, cable armors, and cable sheaths shall be continuous between cabinets, boxes, fittings, or other enclosures or outlets.
Exception No. 1: Short sections of raceways used to provide support or protection of cable assemblies from physical damage shall not be required to be mechanically continuous.
