Anyone ever dealt with Kirk Key? What's involved from installation perspective?

Simply specify kirk key on the gear so the manufacturer can install them.

Yes, have the gear manufacturer do it. Getting the mechanical aspects correct for the particular design of the gear is challenging in the field.

absolutely. they do this on a regular basis. trying to do it in the field after the gear is delivered would be a big mess.
