Being asked to price up removing and replacing (2)5' section of busduct(where the red x is).

Anyone of you guys done busduct work? Any issues you see with doing this? It's 5000A.

It would obviously need to be shutdown.

-Purchase 2 Sections of above mention 5,000Amp Busway
-Remove 2 sections of damage 5,000Amp Busway.
-Megger test existing sections of busway to remain before installation of new pieces.
-Install 2 sections of 5,000Amp Busway.
-Isolate bus from switchgear and perform megger test on entire 5,000Amp Busway.
-Re-Connect busway on Both Ends to correspondent switchgear
-Re-energize Busway

Busduct is held together with couplings. Sections can be can removed and replaced. Is it horizontal or vertical?

The busduct I worked on was designed to be installed starting at one end and working to the other end. As the sections slide together, you may need to find a way to move the busduct that is not being replaced enough to slide the new sections into place.

5000 amp busduct with copper bus could be 75 to 100 pounds per foot.

How old is the existing busduct? Are you sure that mating busduct is still available?
