Octagon extension 1/4 inch

Does anyone know of an extension for an octagon box (not round plaster ring) but only a 1/4 inch or less

Appreciate your time

You looking for metal?

As far as I know, 1 1/2” is the only size they make for metal octagon boxes. At least my supply house could find them for me last week.

If you’re looking for plastic light box extenders, those ones posted are great. I keep a bunch on the truck.

Dennis & Audie you guys are a walking encyclopedias on not only the NEC but electrical products. Thank you for all the great advice that you provide us. Never know they made a 1/2" extension ring for what us old timer call an Octagon box. Started reading EC&M magazine when my chief electrician dad stated bringing them home while I was in high school. Liked attending trade shows to keep up with the latest & greatest products. I attended a great Vo Tech school who had yearly field trips to trade shows & a large motor repair facility. One of our larger supply house had a counter man that was a sparky for many years and would ask him what product to use. He saved me a lot of time back in the 1970's recommending to use a hole saw & 4" round boxes with wings to hang over 25 little wall luminares in sheet rock. Never know they made such convient time saving boxes.

I read catalogs. Especially the ones from supply houses with lots of nifty pictures of the items. Yes, even Grainger-- they may not be cheap, but they have it in stock! But you see all sorts of things that may not have appeared in local stores. Or, give you an idea for a fix with locally available materials.
