My Dad's home place has an old oak tree that is estimated by tree experts to be around 360 years old. My cousin leaves there now. This week the tree fell after tons of rain the days before and wind. It measured 18' around the circumference. It took the tree removal service 14 hrs to remove it from the house. It was so large that it fell on the back of the house and the branches reached both sides of the house. It took out the electrical service, which I put back after they cleared the tree. Sad to see it gone! It was the center piece of the property.

Wow surprised that there is any house left.
I didn't show all the damage. It came through the roof in several places. took out a deck on the opposite side from what my pic is, including the BBQ equipment. Strange part is my cousin had just moved his RV into the driveway a day or so before. It also landed on it. Don't know the damage to it yet.

Several nice looking logs. I don't know if the tree service took them, or they piled them up with the rest of the tree.
If they took them it should be reflected on the price. I had some large dead oaks dropped once and the next day a truck with a track hoe pulled in saying he was there two haul off the logs, I said sorry, the logs are mine.

The tree was to the west of the house and provided tons of shade. My cousin said he never saw the sun shine into the back windows until the tree fell. Says he may have to upsize his A/C now as it will be hotter in there with the shade gone.

We have been losing a lot of big trees around because of the wet weather. I lost a big white pine that fell on my classic Mercedes and Jeep Wrangler.

Disposal of the wood and limbs should have been discussed at pricing. Or maybe not. Could have been an insurance adjuster just ok'ing get it out of the way.
