We are running underground FRE(fiberglass) conduits that come up through a slab on grade and end. Message from GC says this. What does this mean for us running our conduits and footings?

GC leaving Windows for the FRE but EC will have to go through the footings

Sounds like the footings are in the path of the conduit. Not sure the structural engineer would allow you to run through a footing.

We have to run underground conduits in this area? look at all the rebar. Is this usual to have to run underground conduits with all this rebar etc.

Wow...so why are underground conduits labored less then overhead? Seems like this would take longer.
Yes it will take longer when going through that mess of rebar. In the end it probably all averages out where you can make up some labor hours on the straight pipe.

Well we got the job and I labored the 4" conduit(all in) with connectors, base spacers, etc. at 23 hours per hundred feet. Hope that we can make that.. Essentially 2 guys 1-1/2 days.

Are you saying the runs will be embedded in the footing when all is done?

I'd call "underground" something that was installed below all that and in the dirt. If that were the intent you should been there before they started forming and placing rebar.

The mentioned "windows" is likely supposed to mean they are arranging rebar so that you should have a reasonable pathway through the maze of rebar.
