I need a 125mfd cap and have a 144? (Tested at). Will it work okay until we get new tomorrow? 100.
That's what I thought but It wouldn't physically fit in the controller. So called the well guy and he set one out for us. Brothers well, so he did the drive time.Probably. Can't hurt to try.

In our HVAC Maintenance Contracts, we include changing the Combination Capacitors every year. They are very cheap and keep the service calls down in the middle of the summer. Don't like working in 100 + degree weather !
Years ago, my in-laws were visiting and the A/C quit. The hermetic side of the combo cap was bad. It was Sunday, so I went to the TV transmitter site I work at, and found a motor cap in a decommissioned weather radar that matched the hermetic side's value. I scabbed it in, and we were cool again until I could get a replacement. When we get a service call in the summer, 99% of it is always the Combination Capacitor. They get worked hard and dry out. So, do yourself a favor and change yours out yearly.
Old cap was bad but new one didn't help the problem of extended run time to reach pressure and low volume.
He and I pulled it by hand years ago but we've gotten smarter and lazier. Well guy can do it in an hour or so.
Could very well be. I found that for a customer that knew what her monthly electric bill should be, and when it went up she wanted to know why.Probably a leak between the pump and check valve.
