In no particular order:

1. Make sure every EMT fitting is fully engaged and properly tightened.
2. Make sure every conduit field cut is made straight and reamed well.
3. A wire cut a little too long is better than a wire cut a little too short.
4. Make every splice, joint, and connection carefully and text-book neat.
5. Use a solenoid tester for testing and troubleshooting, not a voltmeter.

I can think of more.
 
Probably not what you are looking for. Here's what I stress to the new guys. Some even understand it:

1. Electricity runs in a circuit, it's not like throwing a ball.
2. Don't be part of the circuit.
3. The neutral carries as much current as the hot, even though there is no voltage to ground.
4. When you open a panel, stop and identify everything in it, what can kill you and what can't.
5. You ARE going to make mistakes. Stop and check everything you do before going to the next task.
 
This is probably more what you are looking for:

1. The expected voltages and grounding in panels according to the number of conductors and the color of the the insulation. (120/240, 120/208, 277/480)
2. The current ratings of common conductors used in your field of work.
3. Correct use of the neutrals.
4. The difference between grounding and bonding.
5. How to make correct electrical connections.

I learned that one early on in high school. I was replacing a broken floor receptacle in a typing classroom. The Principal said he turned of the circuit, but I got a tingle. Shorted it to the side of the box, and it went boom! LOL!
