Hi Everyone!
New member here. Ive been snooping the website for quite sometime now and have decided to jump in.
So here we go…
Any reason why an old work metal box would not pass inspection with an extension ring with 3/4 ko’s?

I am coming out of a main panel to power a EV charger and want avoid using a cable to transition from indoor to outdoor.

In between the single gang metal box and the extension ring there will be exposed stucco.

Let me know!

Link shows 1/2” kos but the ext ring in question would be 3/4

No reason I can think of. Mount it, run a bead of Lexel around the top and sides, and cover it up. Inspector probably won't look inside anyway.

I don't understand these two statements.
Is the metal box exiting?
How are you running the conductors, are they to be spliced in the metal box and you need the ext. ring for more room?

If you have a metal box, how can stucco be between the box and ext. ring?

In my area exterior-meter centers are buried flush in stucco, with KO's blocked by framing on both sides.

KO & framing is drilled out from inside the enclosure, with NM cable routed thru wall, to exterior box covering stucco holes.

Exterior raceway thru framing typically requires wall access in need of stucco repairs with a proper vapor barrier.

Or, if your slick you can use this trick:
