What is the new buzz around the 2026? Any changes that I should be aware of that are likely set in stone?

Most are pretty much set in stone now. There are a few Certified Amending Motions that will be debated and voted on at the NFPA annual meeting in June.
You can go to nfpa.org/70 and click next edition to read the second draft of the 2026 code. Most of that will be the actual code when it is published in August or September of this year.

What most stands out to you?

I can't think of anything that will be a big deal. I think some of the changes in 625 will go away as I expect the CAMs to get rid of the emergency stop rule, and the GFCI/SPGFCI rules for hard wired EV changers will be accepted at the June meeting.

That’s comforting. No 16 gauge copper yet.
