More UL listed junk

The shoulder on these MC connectors is too small. As you can see it doesnt cover the KO, and you can actually get the entire shoulder to go thru the KO. Has anyone ever filed a compliant with UL? I am thinking of trying it.

What brand are those connectors? I've seen a similar problem on offset nipples and chase nipples with the shoulder being so small that the nipple almost goes through the KO.

More proof that UL does not check for quality.
I am not surprised that UL allows gaps as long as they are small. I am more amazed they allow sharp edges that are not near conductors.

These are halex brand from Big Orange. Yeah it seems like most of the die cast stuff, EMT fittings offset nipples has borderline large enough shoulders. Most of those I find don't cover a standard KO completely if they are offset all the way to one side.

They look like topaz 170. We use them a lot. I actually bought a few 13/16 hole saws for them. They do have a small shoulder.

Arlington 38a the only one I've ever used at said ya this is a good connector.

No, but there is a problem with the connector falling through the KO.

Do they have a real listing mark? Lots of stuff out there that have counterfiet listing marks.

I had the same problem with topaz 1-1/2” 2-screw connectors. I sent them back.

If reducing washer has same size opening it can fall through the washer as well.

The box or the connector could be metric. I’ve noticed lately KO’s or the connectors have been looser than normal.

I have not investigated what the product standard says about gaps around connectors, but IMO there should not be a gap I mean come on.

Which is why I said "might" help.

Hole saws usually cut holes too large, too.

Listed doesn’t mean they can’t get away with metric sizes. Probably so they can sell to the world market without re-tooling. I had issues with UT boxes in Chile, the keypads I was using were designed for American UT boxes, but the hole spacing on their UT boxes was slightly different.
