extreme foolishness or irrationalityI've always hated that "definition of insanity" saying, it's just completely false, makes no sense, isn't even clever...
So the definition I gave fits that. You can use mini analogies.

Again, you can define it for yourself any way you want to, but that "doing the same thing and expecting different results" so-called definition of insanity is not codified by mental health workers; it's just pop culture pseudoscience and it has no basis in fact. If it sounds good and meshes with your preconceived notions, it must be true, right? It's what often passes for critical thinking these days, I guess...extreme foolishness or irrationality

Problem is, tarrifs are threatened one day, then gone the next. How bout buying copper futures for very large orders?
Kinda like poker, or negotiation, you just don’t roll over.Problem is, tarrifs are threatened one day, then gone the next.
If remember right there is a big plant here PA up north.Close, there are only 3 smelting plants left operating, 2 in AZ and one in UT. I don’t believe there are any mothballed smelters,
I'm amazed this thread is still open.Lets get back on topic!
It’s kind of like everything else. No one knows where it’s headed.I'm amazed this thread is still open.
Thats like installing knob and tube, except knob and tube would be better. The major carriers here don't insure aluminum wiring new or old does not matter, some say they exclude just AL branch circuits, some all AL is excluded. Take a look at your policy. (Its dumb I know)Just buy aluminum right now—— maybe copper clad??
How isAluminum like installing knob and tube I can get the copper clad because it’s has no real benefit over aluminum. I know some people freak out about aluminum, but I’ve noticed the people that usually freak out about aluminum are people who really don’t know anything and they think they do.Thats like installing knob and tube, except knob and tube would be better. Its the home insurance industry, you can't get a mortgage without insurance, a builder/real estate developer we work for got into it with a broker then tried to reason with them, realtors and mortgage brokers require the home to be insurable. the builder tried to contact home owners insurance underwriter he said to go someplace else they don't cover AL new or old, they'll issue a home policy but only with a aluminum waiver, mortgage broker did not like the waiver, these are brand new homes. If you tell him Well that feeder feeding your home is aluminum so do you want me to change that they’ll look at y’all stupefy then not talk smack about aluminum anymore.
Yeah this was one of the larger home builders in the area, but I looked at my policy after I learned that, we still do AL from the meter to the main breaker. They also don't want AL busbar, copper only, which oddly the panels the builder's son got from the box store were AL buss but same exact panel at my supply house was copper.Wow what a scam someone got going to make a dime of money insuring that alum some one will
Some/most of this stuff is written by people have no idea what they are talking about. For example recently I had to do an assessment of a property that my client bought. The insurance company wanted to know that there were no fuses. Completely absurd of course. And then of course there is larger aluminum branch circuit and feeder cables like SERIts the home insurance industry, you can't get a mortgage without insurance, a builder/real estate developer we work for got into it with a broker then tried to reason with them, realtors and mortgage brokers require the home to be insurable. the builder tried to contact home owners insurance underwriter he said to go someplace else they don't cover AL new or old, they'll issue a home policy but only with a aluminum waiver, mortgage broker did not like the waiver, these are brand new homes.
They dont care about utility wiring.
Tell him what copper replacement will cost and see how far that goes, particularly if it is like a 100-200 feet of 200 amp conductor underground. 15-20 feet down the side of the house from an overhead drop with 100 amp conductor isn't enough to be seen as being too pricey. If you tell him Well that feeder feeding your home is aluminum so do you want me to change that they’ll look at y’all stupefy then not talk smack about aluminum anymore.
Its an insurance company they could care less, its not their house they are not obligated to do business with anyone, they don't cover aluminum wiring, or if they do its at a higher premium, so builders don't want aluminum circuits or panels. UG Service entrance they dont care about they will get reimbursement from a at-fault utility after it has paid a covered claim.Tell him what copper replacement will cost and see how far that goes,
Any idea if the insurance industry looks at CCA differently than just AL? I haven't seen it being used near me at all.Its an insurance company they could care less, its not their house they are not obligated to do business with anyone, they don't cover aluminum wiring, or if they do its at a higher premium, so builders don't want aluminum circuits or panels.
