Well, I've known for a long time that nothing wrong with house wiring and now have confirmed that it's not the cord or supply connections, so it became more of a hobby than electrical troubleshooting

I think that dishwasher is capable of hooking to WIFI although it isn't. Maybe the cord has nothing to do with it, and only works because they unplug it each time.

I hope they pick lower-tech model when they replace it

We have a two year old Maytag washer. When the pump quits, three times now, the lid is locked until you suck the water out though the drain hose so you can move it away from the wall to repair the broken wire, then run it thru a drain cycle. My wife blames the electronics, it does give a code, but I blame the ultra light weight wires to the pump. They flex when tub goes into spin.

I can see a timer that cycles power to it once a day, in your future.

I feel your pain. Dishwashers and washing machines used to have mechanical timing devices; now they have digital timers which are much cheaper but impossible to troubleshoot. I have been experiencing a lot of frustration with our washing machine, which has a "ghost" of its own. I looked into replacing it with a unit with a mechanical timer, but it is either impossible or hideously expensive.
