Pool room considered corrosive location

My inspector informed me that yes, a residential pool mechanical room is considered a corrosive environment. He said basically everything has to be 4X rated and no EMT will be permitted.

My question is about light switched and receptacles. How do you make a cord and plug piece of equipment comply? Doesn't seem like a bubble cover would be enough.

Any experience with this kind of thing appreciated, thanks

Yes this was a change in the 2023 code, Last one I did I moved the panel and pool controls out of the mechanical room to a non-corrosive location (a changing room).
In the mechanical room I had a NEMA 4X marine grade receptacle for the required receptacle on a GFCI breaker. Pump and everything is hard wired in non metallic flex & PVC conduit.
