Conduit for floor heat

Electric T-Stat in interior wall with no insulation. Is it required to provide a conduit for wiring from the floor to T-Stat?

120v This is for Schluter tile floor heat.

What do the installation instructions say? Do they require a conduit for the portion of the wiring that is within the wall?

I usually run 2 smurf tubes from the floor into a 4" sq box. 1 for the control cable and 1 for the heat cable. It makes it easier for the tile guy to get the cables to the STAT.
