I would swear I just saw this topic recently and now can’t find it, but does anyone know if there is still a horizontal receptacle out there ?

Like the old eagle brand style. Can be gfci or non gfci.

I didn’t have enough room with framing to turn this box in my bathroom vertical.

Apparently the (quite pricy) eaton surge suppression receptacles still use this receptacle orientation:

There are also the rotating receptacles:

You might also construct something with snap in simplex receptacles, eg:

I don't know the legality of putting such things on a custom made 'yoke' in an ordinary box.

Finally you might look at the '4-plex' type device. I think this would mount on your sideways box, and give you any receptacle orientation you wish:

I installed two GFCI 15 amp dup!ex receptacles that I installed in my house over 35 years ago that receptacle are 90 degrees rotated . A general contractor gave them to me because they were PLO'S ( parts left over ) from a job. I installed them next to my front door to feed two pent receptacles that I use for Christmas lights. They might have tripped out twice after heavy rain and a lot easier to rest them especially for my wife who is a deer in the headlights when she opens our 42 circuit panel even with an accurate panel schedule.

Really—- ya I assumed you already thought of that since you like those fancy items—- I am really shocked most women love them except the price lol-
I also had to look that up I am going to use that alot on my wife lol

I had.... will have again.... adorne devices in my house. My wife hates the adorne receptacles so not putting those back, planning to use decora style receps with Vantage trimline wall plates, which are the closest matching to the adorne switches I'll have.

They make single and double gang——
I got a display at shop I am going to double check lol.

the box I have is 3" deep. The 2 gang I think is one pop-out and one blank opening to install a switch. There's something funky about the 2gg and I can't remember what exactly, but there are only certain other adorne devices you can fit in there. Just a regular switch I think, no Sensaswitch or dimmers, which require a 1-gang "plus" opening in the mounting plate.
