Tray cable for interior wiring

Been noticing inspectors allowing tray cable to be used for interior residential

Been seeing it on electric clothes dryer installs.
It’s black and not orange so it should have been obvious.

I thought it was not allowed for that application.

Only usable where control and power are applicable. Generators for instance.

Only usable where control and power are applicable.

Only usable if the cable has power and control conductors in it. There is no requirement that the control conductors be used, only that they are in the cable.
