According to the electrical EOR(engineer of record), running conduit in front of the A/C vent is not prohibited by the NEC.
Only thing I can think of is the support spacing.

It's really just a title. Different jurisdictions and countries can adopt whatever codes they want to adopt - doesn't matter if the title says national or international.Why is the mechanical, international and electrical national?
