I understand that emt rmc and imc are considered egc and no egc of the wire type is required. How come the NEC hasn’t extended that requirement to say that in places where these conduits are subject to physical damage and or accessible like in attics roofs and claw spaces an egc of the wire type should be installed

We have amendment on roofs—- but that’s for emt only… pipes better than wire—- if it gets damaged then so would the wires inside

Are you saying that because a raceway may be subject to physical damage that it should be required to have a wire type EGC installed even when the raceway qualifies as an EGC?
Im say that if a pipe is subject to damage and accessible to workers that might come in contact with it (in the locations listed above) in the event of a ground fault a egc of the wire type should should be present

Why!!!! If it was installed that lose— too damage the conduit—- the wires are also damaged and it needs to be replaced—-
Even if they ran a wire with the situation you propose the wire can get yanked out of connection from the force—-

Currently it is not required even if the raceway is subject to physical damage. You can always go through the process of submitting a PI to make a code change in the 2029 NEC.
You didn’t read the specific places i posted
They aren’t accepting PI at this time I tried

Yes, I did and if it was installed that badly in those spaces, then how are you guaranteed that EGC was landed properly
If the condo was installed correctly, then there’s no problem and if it does get damaged in those spots and it was installed correctly, and I guarantee you those wires are damaged. Also, something with a lot of force hit that.
Just my opinion though do you have your reasons why you think that way

The system in open to submit Public Inputs to make changes for the 2029 code. The last date to submit a PI for the 2029 code is April 9, 2026.

Yes they are. The system has been open for about a month and will remain open until April 9th. .
www.nfpa.org/70, select next edition and then select "submit public input online".
You do have to register with the NFPA using an email address to submit a PI.
You will have to have a very solid technical substation to get CMP 5 to accept a change like this. You will need real world examples of failures and the harm they caused...not just speculation on "what if" types of things.

It does not work that way with CMP 5. It may with other panels, but not with panel 5.
