Do both 1 and 2 hour rated walls required fire rated "putty packs" on any 1900 boxes that penetrate these walls?
	
		
			
		
		
	
				
			Yes, you are correct, 1 hour and 2 hour walls have the same guidelines in regards to the application of putty pads. From here though, I strongly recommend you do your own research. A big "for example" is you can't use a putty pad on a 3 gang masonry box per the listing. Yet this is an extremely common box in the corridor fire walls at a hospital. You can gen an "engineering judgement" from virtually all manufacturers that deems it acceptable, but then you still need your Architect and potentially your AHJ to sign off on it. Otherwise the boxes must be five sided....based on your response I assume it makes no difference whether it's a 1 hour rated wall or 2...
