Picture? What do those 300kcmil lines land on ?I need to do a tap on 2 sets of 300kcmil service. I'm doing a supply side tap for the PV system. My tapping conductor is only #2. Do I need to tap on both sets or I can just tap on one conductor.
I.e,. if they are going to different places you can tap one set but if they are going to one place you must tap them all.For "conductors in parallel or "Parallel sets" yes you need to tap all conductors
For "multiple sets of service conductors" you could just tap one set.
Well, in case he hasn't...I think that Zyb has got the message by now.![]()
I remember that conversation, and I may have started it. It would have been 6 or 7 years ago, I believe.Well, in case he hasn't...
Of course I forgot to bookmark it, but I do recall we a had a thread several years ago where we analyzed the theory and determined that tapping one set for solar could somewhat easily lead to a situation that overloaded the tapped set of conductors. It defeats the assumptions behind overcurrent protection and the rules for taps in 705. So a good situation to not question the parallel conductor rules.
